Our hero tour: Ijen blue fire and crater lake, then Mount Bromo sunrise by jeep — private vehicle, 2 nights with breakfast, local Ijen guide and photographer included.
Two of Indonesia’s most famous volcano experiences in one smooth, private trip: the blue fire and turquoise crater lake of Kawah Ijen, then the sunrise over Mount Bromo from the jeep viewpoints.
How hard is it?
Bromo is easy. Ijen is a moderate hike of roughly 2 to 3 hours, starting in the early hours of the morning. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended and you can go at your own pace. Ijen access depends on volcanic activity and can be restricted: your guide checks conditions and advises.

Good to know
- Kawah Ijen is closed on the first Friday of every month. The Ijen hike starts after midnight on day 2, so if you would start on the first Thursday of a month we recommend our 4-day tour instead (Tumpak Sewu, Ijen & Bromo, 4 Days 3 Nights): with an extra day we can re-order the route around the closure.
- Day 1 applies to flights arriving before 12:00.
- If your flight leaves on day 3, choose a flight after 17:00.
- Your private vehicle is matched to your group size (Toyota Avanza, Innova or Hiace). Drinking water: 1 bottle per day.
- Rooms are twin-share (1 room for 2 guests).
- Holiday season surcharge for accommodation: 18 December to 3 January.
Pay on arrival
You pay nothing when you book. Settle the tour fee with your driver on the pick-up day — cash (IDR or EUR) or credit card (a small card fee may apply).
