The full East Java line-up for travellers with limited time. It is a packed itinerary with long drives and an early-morning Ijen hike of roughly 2 to 3 hours: a good level of fitness is recommended.
Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Tumpak Sewu
- Pick-up from your airport, hotel, train station or bus terminal
- Drive to Tumpak Sewu and check in (about 5 hours)
Day 2: Tumpak Sewu, then Ijen
- Panorama Semeru and Kapas Biru panorama on the way

Good to know
- Kawah Ijen is closed on the first Friday of every month. The Ijen hike must not fall on that day, so if your dates would clash, we re-order the route (for example Bromo before Ijen) at the same price.
- If your flight leaves on the last day, choose a flight after 17:00.
- Your private vehicle is matched to your group size (Toyota Avanza, Innova or Hiace). Drinking water: 1 bottle per day.
- Rooms are twin-share (1 room for 2 guests).
- Holiday season surcharge for accommodation: 18 December to 3 January.
