Our most complete East Java route: Malang and Batu, Tumpak Sewu waterfalls, the Ijen blue fire and the Bromo sunrise, ending in Surabaya. Five nights with breakfast included.

Everything East Java is known for in one private journey: the cities and orchards of Malang and Batu, the waterfalls of Tumpak Sewu, the blue fire of Kawah Ijen and the sunrise at Mount Bromo.

Itinerary

Day 1: Malang

  1. Pick-up from your airport, hotel, train station or bus terminal
  2. Kampung Warna Warni or Kayutangan Heritage (about 2 hours from the pick-up)
  3. Night market at Alun-Alun
  4. Check in Malang

Day 2: Batu, then Tumpak Sewu

  1. Breakfast and check-out
  2. Apple orchard
  3. Paragliding hill and Taman Langit
  4. Flora San Terra
  5. Coban Rondo waterfall
  6. Souvenir shopping at Brawijaya Istana Oleh-Oleh
  7. Drive to Tumpak Sewu and check in (about 6 hours)

Day 3: Tumpak Sewu, then Ijen

  1. Panorama Semeru and Kapas Biru panorama on the way

  3. 06:00 - 10:30Explore Tumpak Sewu with your local guide: panorama viewpoint, base of the waterfalls, Tebing Nirwana, Telaga Biru and Goa Tetes

  6. Drive to Ijen and check in (about 6 hours)

Day 4: Ijen blue fire, then Bromo

  1. 00:00 - 02:00Check-out and preparation for the Ijen hike (take-away breakfast pack)
  2. 02:00 - 07:00Kawah Ijen tour with your local guide (blue fire, crater lake)
  3. 07:00Back to the parking area
  4. Drive to Bromo and check in (about 3 hours)

Day 5: Sunrise at Mount Bromo

  1. 02:00 - 09:00Jeep tour: sunrise viewpoint (Penanjakan 1, Seruni Point, Love Hill, King Kong Hill or Widodaren Hill), Sea of Sand, Bromo crater, Teletubbies Hill and Whispering Sand
  2. 09:00Back to the hotel
  3. 11:00Breakfast and check-out
  4. Drive to Surabaya and check in (about 3 hours)

Day 6: Departure

  1. Breakfast and check-out
  2. Airport transfer. Tour ends

Good to know

  • Kawah Ijen is closed on the first Friday of every month. The Ijen hike must not fall on that day, so if your dates would clash, we re-order the route (for example Bromo before Ijen) at the same price.
  • Your private vehicle is matched to your group size (Toyota Avanza, Innova or Hiace). Drinking water: 1 bottle per day.
  • Rooms are twin-share (1 room for 2 guests).
  • Holiday season surcharge for accommodation: 18 December to 3 January.

You pay nothing when you book. Settle the tour fee with your driver on the pick-up day — cash (IDR or EUR) or credit card (a small card fee may apply).
