How to choose

One day or one night: pick one thing. Bromo for the sunrise, Ijen for the blue fire, Tumpak Sewu for waterfalls.
Three days: Bromo and Ijen together, or Bromo with Malang and Batu if you would rather skip the Ijen night hike.
Four days: the first length that includes Tumpak Sewu. With all three highlights it is packed: long drives and early starts.
Five or six days: more room. The six-day tour is the only one with Malang, Batu, Tumpak Sewu, Ijen and Bromo.

Two things to check before you book

Kawah Ijen is closed on the first Friday of every month. How to plan around it.
Hotel prices rise around the holidays: 18 Dec to 3 Jan on the 1 to 3 day tours, 20 Dec to 1 Jan on the 4 to 6 day tours.

All tours use a private vehicle with a driver. Multi-day tours include hotels with breakfast. You pay on arrival, with no deposit (how it works).
